Till (Verb)
Meaning
Work land as by ploughing, harrowing, and manuring, in order to make it ready for cultivation; "till the soil".
Classification

Examples
- Early in the spring the farmer would carefully till the land in preparation for planting a new crop.
- To till the field correctly, start by loosening the top layer of soil with a shovel.
- The farmer instructs the farmhand on how to till the newly acquired land for sowing seeds.
- Before you plant the trees, make sure you till the soil to a depth of about 8-10 inches.
- To save time, many farmers now use tractors to till the fields instead of manual labor.
