Meaning
Make pliant and flexible; "These boots are not yet suppled by frequent use".
Classification
Verbs of size, temperature change, intensifying, etc..
Examples
- The leather saddle will be suppled by continued use and proper conditioning.
- Regular exercise will help supple the tense muscles after injury.
- The older upholstery will need to be suppled by application of a leather conditioner.
- Frequent wear will eventually supple these stiff new shoes.
- The dry ground was suppled by heavy rain and became easier to dig.
