Side-slip (Verb)
Meaning
Slide sideways through the air in a downward direction in an airplane along an inclined lateral axis.
Classification
Verbs of walking, flying, swimming.
Examples
- The pilot struggled to control the plane as it began to side-slip through the turbulent air.
- If the pilot fails to correct the controls, the plane will side-slip toward the ground.
- The aircraft will inevitably side-slip, resulting in loss of lift and potentially catastrophic consequences.
