Ricochet (Verb)
Meaning
Spring back; spring away from an impact; "The rubber ball bounced"; "These particles do not resile but they unite after they collide".

Examples
- The dropped tennis ball would ricochet off the concrete floor if not caught in time.
- A particle of dust will often ricochet in random directions when displaced by a burst of air.
- When the object struck the rock face it would ricochet back over the water to land among the observers on the shore.
- A very hot iron fragment can ricochet and kill or injure anyone standing nearby.
- Upon release, the stretched elastic band would ricochet forward at considerable speed.
