Meaning
Support by placing against something solid or rigid; "shore and buttress an old building".

Examples
- The wooden beams were used to prop up the old roof to prevent it from collapsing.
 - Temporary pillars will be installed to prop up the building until permanent repairs can be made.
 - We had to prop up the wall to keep it from falling down while we fixed the foundation.
 - A metal frame was used to prop up the damaged bridge until a more permanent solution could be found.
 - It took several poles and wooden planks to prop up the side of the house after the landslide.
