Meaning
Come unraveled or undone as if by snagging; "Her nylons were running".
Classification
Verbs of size, temperature change, intensifying, etc..
Examples
- My nylons laddered as I walked through the crowded room and bumped into someone.
- The fragile fabric laddered easily, rendering the dress unwearable.
- Her expensive stockings laddered the moment she put them on.
- After washing the tights for the first time, they laddered and had to be replaced.
