Examples
- Styrene and 1,3-butadiene copolymerise to form styrene-butadiene rubber, a synthetic rubber widely used in tires and other applications.
- Crosslinkable polyamide resins are made by copolymerising adipic acid and alkylenediamines such as ethylenediamine or hexamethylenediamine.
- Highly crosslinked polyacrylates are copolymerised from multifunctional polyols and acrylic acid in a free radical bulk copolymerisation.
- Acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene can be combined to copolymerise into a strong, impact-resistant ABS plastic.
