So-so (Adverb)
Meaning
In an acceptable (but not outstanding) manner; "she plays tennis tolerably".
Examples
- She sings in the school choir so-so, but she's definitely improving.
- I think the restaurant was so-so, the food was just average.
- He's a so-so student, he usually manages to pass his exams but doesn't excel.
- The movie was so-so, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.
- Her cooking is so-so, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not.
