Meaning
So as to pass a given point; "every hour a train goes past".
Examples
- A bus drove past the corner where she was waiting.
- Every 30 minutes, a train rumbled past the house.
- As we drove past the school, we saw children playing outside.
- A runner sprinted past us as we were jogging down the road.
- She quickly drove past the red light, which turned out to be a close call.
