Meaning
At the present or from now on; usually used with a negative; "Alice doesn't live here anymore"; "the children promised not to quarrel any more".
Examples
- She can't run any longer, her legs are too weak.
- He doesn't eat sweets anymore, he's on a diet.
- They don't argue any longer, they've learned to resolve conflicts peacefully.
- I won't be able to help you any longer, I have other commitments.
- We won't be traveling to that place anymore, it's too expensive.
